 Know the signs:

 
How can you tell if a friend has a drinking or drug problem?
 
- Getting drunk or high on a regualar basis
- Lying about how much drugs or alcohol they use
- Believing that alcohol/drugs are necessary to have fun or 'fit in'
- Having frequent hangovers
- Feeling run-down, depressed or even suicidal
- Having memory problems, being forgetful or experiencing 'black-outs'
- Having problems at school or getting in trouble with the law
 

 

 

 Did you know....

 
- Alcohol/Drugs can kill you or a loved one - even if your not the one who is high.  If your around people who are drinking, you have an increased risk of being seriously injured, involved in car crashes, or affectred by violence.  At the veryleast, you may have to deal with people who are sick, out of control, or unable to take care of themselves.
 
- Consuming large amounts of alcohol or drugs can lead to coma or even death
 
- Alcohol and Drugs affect your body.  Alocohol and Drugs can damage every organ in your body.  They are absorbed directly into your bloodstream and increase your risk for a variey of life-threatening diseases and health problems.
 
 
 
   

Q.  My parents drink – why can’t I?

 

  A. “Our bodies are still growing.  Alcohol has

a huge impact on our physical and mental well-being. 

 Kids who drink at a young age are more likely to

 become addicted.  Drinking is also illegal for kids.”
